Ranks Of Angels
I just got news that the patron of the Ranks of Angels charity is HRH the Duchess of Cornwall and as she was unable to come to the event we filmed, she would like to view the video once it's finished! Very Exciting.
Twisted Red String
Been quite busy recently working on a short ten minute film.
It's based on an East Asian belief which is the red string of fate; it's belived that two people who are destined to be together are tied together by a red string that can twist and stretch but never break. In my film i've based it on the Korean version that the string is tied to the little finger but the Japanese and Chinese respectively have their own versions. You can find out more about the myth HERE. Anyway, I've turned the myth into the basis for a love story, a guy who can see his red string but is thinking on giving up looking for the one.
I finished filming just last week and am in the midst of editing this now.
Below are just a few stills i managed to get during filming.

Hertfordshire Fire Service
Recently my university was approached by the local fire service to create a short video for their current campaign, warning young people not to drink and drive. Last night, myself and my team went down to he fire station to look at the wrecked cars we were planning on using in our campaign video. The premise of our video is that young people will be more affected by the materialistic loss if their car as they already know about the danger to their lives. By taking this alternate approach I hope to create a video with a big impact.
The idea is self is still quite basic but I know the rough outline for the video:
The idea is self is still quite basic but I know the rough outline for the video:
- A brand new car is shown, young people are laughing about inside.
- A pint glass filling up with beer, images of car crashes shown using opacity in the beer.
- A shot of the wrecked cars .
- Our message is "This is your car's graveyard, Where's yours"?
NYFA Introductory Course - Summer 2013
During the summer of 2013 I was offered the opportunity to participate in the NYFA (National Youth Film Academy) two week Introductory course, which was a great chance to work with some like minded talent from various backgrounds of experience. It was also a chance to hear from some people who are at work in the industry such as Paul Alexander (a talented scriptwriter), Herbet Wise (who's been working in the industry for 50 years),Jonathan Firth ( Colin Firth's brother who directs as well as being a brilliant actor in his own right), just to name a few. Over the two weeks I worked in a crew of 16 with many talented people from around the UK and the end result was a 10-min short film set in the 2011 London Riots, named Echo. We also visited the Harry Potter Studio Tour at Leavesden Studio on the weekend.
"Ranks of Angels" St Pauls Cathedral Filming
On Thursday 10th October 2013, I was asked to film a charity event at St Pauls Cathedral: A service to celebrate the 85th anniversary of the London taxi driver' fund for underprivileged children. I filmed the entire service on a two camera set up with a crew of three (including myself as director).Below are a few select pictures from the event, the project itself is currently in the editing stage, I plan on creating three different edits: one of the entire service, a shorter cut of the music and one final cut of the event to be summarised in a minute or so for the charities website). I also received interest from the choir master to create a cut for their website also.
